Most people have had jobs while going to college. I was a painter. I painted walls, ceilings, trims, floors, exteriors and anything else that I was asked to paint. Before painting, I fixed all of the holes, cracks, and other problem areas in the space where I was working. After painting, I rehung everything in the room using precise measurements and leveling tools. These skills have continued to be used all throughout my life and have really come in handy.
I was asked to give this room a refresh, and I was happy to do so. This person was getting new furniture, moving all of the decor around while also getting new items, removing the large area rug to show the original wood floor, and replacing all of her curtains, bedding, etc. while keeping the original white ceiling fan. In other words, the room was completely emptied. Even the ceiling fan (with light) had to come down so that I could paint the ceiling.
Since this person had to move out of her room while this refresh was happening, I removed everything from the walls and fixed those holes a few days beforehand. Then I painted the ceiling, walls, and trim with two coats of paint in one weekend. That was a very hot and busy weekend!
After the paint dried and cured for several days, I went back and hung up all of her room decor, curtain rods/curtains, shelves, and so on (there was a lot). I am very particular about things being perfectly spaced and level, so this actually took a while to finish.
I don't want to show the finished, decorated room in the photos, but this room looks fantastic! The new paint color choices, new decor, new furniture, new bedding, etc. all go together so nicely and the room now has a very welcoming, peaceful vibe that it didn't have before. This person did a great job picking out everything for her "new" room, and the huge smile on her face when she walked into her finished room was absolutely priceless!
